Card Portfoli-oli-os!
Posted on June 3rd, 2009 @ 9:51 pm

Hi – Tonight’s post is something a little different than the usual card.  I’m calling it a card portfolio although there might be another name for it that isn’t coming to me right now!  I made 5 different versions today as little end-of-the-year gifts for my friends at preschool.  Each one holds 4 postcard style cards and coordinating envelopes.  The portfolio/folder is made from one sheet of 8-1/2 x 11 paper.

You can click on the photos to make them larger if you’d like.  I’ve had the scoring dimensions and whatnot on a scrap of paper for at least a year so I’m not even sure where I got them now.  They are really easy to make – especially if you are making a bunch and can just assembly-line it! :]  This one is made in Kiwi Kiss (again with the Kiwi!!) and Raspberry Tart DSP.  Both are retiring at the end of June… :(   The inside has two pockets to hold the cards and envelopes.  Ribbon ties it shut!  I have one made in Bella Rose DSP, Delicate Dots, and a black and white with Pink Pirouette as well.  Let me know if you want to see those versions and I can post them too.  Thanks for stopping by -

Kiwi Kiss Thank You card
Posted on June 2nd, 2009 @ 7:26 pm

Hi - I must be in a Kiwi Kiss mood lately!  No matter what paper I start with, I always end up back with the Kiwi…  Today’s card is even Kiwi on top of Kiwi!

The background piece of DSP is from the Raspberry Tart series and the Top Note piece is from the Rockabilly series.  The “thank you” comes from the Garden Greetings stamp set.  The rest is pretty simple!  Thanks for stopping by -

Simple Thank You cards
Posted on May 13th, 2009 @ 9:50 pm

Hi – Tonight’s two cards are an attempt to stick with the simpler things.  Sometimes I get a wee bit bogged down in “what else can I add?!” and tonight I tried to aim for simple, yet elegant.  You’ll have to tell me if you think I made it there or if I need do-overs! :]  Both cards are Pink Pirouette and Kiwi Kiss.  The DSP is Bella Rose.  For the Pink Pirouette card I added two felt flowers from the flower fusion kit with a rhinestone brad from the Pretties Kit in the middle.  The “Kind Thanks” stamp is from the Thank You Kindly set…of course. :]  For the Kiwi Kiss card, I used the same stamp except I inked up just the “Thanks” part since I wanted it to fit on the smallest oval punch.  Easy Peasy.  The flower and rhinestone brad came from the Pretties Kit as well.  Doesn’t get much easier!  Hope you like them.  Thanks for stopping by -

Parisian Breeze Basket
Posted on May 12th, 2009 @ 12:46 am

Hi – Two posts in one day…I’m either on a roll or skipping housework today! :]  Here is the third pennant die basket I made.  This is the one I will show in the tutorial I’m working on.  It’s made with Parisian Breeze DSP and a Kraft base.  The tag scallop is also on the pennant die.  I just added a Chocolate Chip 1-3/8″ circle and a 1-1/4″ Whisper White circle for the “to you from me” stamp.  The embellishments on the sides are Chocolate Chip and Baja Breeze felt fusion flowers with jumbo eyelets holding them together.  Then I attached them to the pennant with a rhinestone brad through all the layers in the middle of the eyelet.  In this basket, I’ve put a mini loaf of almond poppyseed bread tied with a Chocolate Chip grosgrain ribbon.  It fits in there perfectly!  The other two baskets in previous posts (here and here) hold cards and 3×3 cards with a treat bag and decorated post-it note holder.  Thanks for stopping by -

Use those scraps!
Posted on May 4th, 2009 @ 12:26 am

Hi – Tonight’s card has saved some scraps from the trash pile!  The red piece on the bottom half of the card was too short, but then I decided that I kind of liked a bit of the card base color around the edges so I kept it.  Then I had the 5 pieces of the Sahara Sand DSP leftover from another project so I lined them up along that too-short red piece.  The chipboard frame had fallen out of the package and was sitting on my table so I rescued that as well.  I used white craft ink to color it and the embossing tool to dry it because I have no patience! :]  The felt flowers have red eyelets in the centers and then a piece of white behind that for the very middle color.  The “thank you” is from the Garden Greetings stamp set.  Hope you had a great weekend and had time for some stamping!  Thanks for stopping by -
