Scraps = layers!
Posted on August 19th, 2009 @ 9:13 am

Hi – Last night I was cleaning up my scrap container and came across several little pieces of Parisian Breeze DSP that I had cut into strips or run through the Big Shot.  I get a little lazy with scraps and tend to toss them in a tub and then sort them out by color when the tub starts to overflow! :0)  But I got distracted – as I often do – by these pieces and started putting them together on a card!  Here’s what I came up with:

newly imported 822

The colors are Baja Breeze, Kraft, Chocolate Chip and White.  The center heart is a chipboard piece that I embossed with white powder three times to give it a chunkier look.   The little “Thank You” stamp is from the Short & Sweet stamp set.  Hope you like it!  Thanks for stopping by -

i {heart} u card
Posted on June 12th, 2009 @ 1:00 am

Hi – There is probably a way to type a heart symbol but I have no idea how so I’ll just stick with {heart}!  This card is a non-stamped card – no stamps at all.  Can’t decide if that’s good or bad…  It does use the new Razzleberry Lemonade DSP though and this pattern with the teeny flowers on it might be my favorite!

i {heart} u card

The card base is Pumpkin Pie with a Crushed Curry (new In Color!) and Whisper White layers under the DSP.  The i and the u are chipboard from the “On Board Loads of Letters” pack.  I sponged them with white craft ink and then a little Pumpkin Pie ink on the edges.  The hearts are from the “Heart to Heart” punch.  I sponged them as well with both colors to make them pop out a bit from the background.  I pierced the perimeter of the square and skipped every other hole on the template.  Add some white organza ribbon and call it done.  I {heart} it – hope you do too!  Thanks for stopping by -

Bella Rose Pennant Basket
Posted on May 8th, 2009 @ 12:33 am

Hi – This is another basket I designed using the pennant die for the Big Shot as the sides.  This time I used the Bella Rose DSP, one of my favorites from the current catalog.

The first basket I made like this holds full size cards.  For this one, I put dividers inside so there are two littler and one big compartment.  I put 4 mini cards (3×3) in one small section, a bag of chocolate covered raisins in the center big section and then a post-it note holder in the second small section.  The 3×3’s are Kiwi Kiss and Pirouette Pink with Bella Rose accents, buttons, ribbon, rhinestone brads and flowers.  I love making these little cards because I get to use all those little pieces that I hate to throw away! :]  The stamp sets I used were Thank You Kindly and One of a Kind.  The tag on the chocolate raisins is from Sale-a-bration.  The post-it note holder is made with the top note die for the Big Shot.  I cut one from a chipboard coaster and then one from the Bella Rose DSP and glued them together.  Then I cut the bottom inch (or so :] ) off and sanded the edges.  I punched the holes for the ribbon with the crop-o-dile.   You can click on the photos to make them bigger if you’d like.  I think this would make a lovely teacher gift or gift for a friend.  Think of all the different things you could put in it!  Hope you like it!  Thanks for stopping by -

Use those scraps!
Posted on May 4th, 2009 @ 12:26 am

Hi – Tonight’s card has saved some scraps from the trash pile!  The red piece on the bottom half of the card was too short, but then I decided that I kind of liked a bit of the card base color around the edges so I kept it.  Then I had the 5 pieces of the Sahara Sand DSP leftover from another project so I lined them up along that too-short red piece.  The chipboard frame had fallen out of the package and was sitting on my table so I rescued that as well.  I used white craft ink to color it and the embossing tool to dry it because I have no patience! :]  The felt flowers have red eyelets in the centers and then a piece of white behind that for the very middle color.  The “thank you” is from the Garden Greetings stamp set.  Hope you had a great weekend and had time for some stamping!  Thanks for stopping by -
