Candy Coated Halloween Pretzel RodsPosted on October 29th, 2009 @ 12:08 am
Hi – I’ve been wanting to try this treat ever since
I found these cool long cello bags and wondered what I could put in them. Pretzel rods seemed to be a perfect fit but too plain – so why not dip them in candy coating and cover them with sprinkles?!! Surely that would be more exciting! :0) Then the challenge became to make the topper for each bag different. I think the pumpkin one is my favorite! Or maybe the mummy… Each one is made on a Top Note folded
in half over the top of the cello bag. The Top Note is cut from a Big Shot die, a must have toy! It makes projects like this so easy when you can cut out all 5 Top Notes at once. Hope you like them! Holler if you want any more specific details. Thanks for stopping by –

Goofy Little Bat!Posted on October 13th, 2009 @ 11:03 pm
Hi – This bat is truly a little goofy looking – BUT, he’s a practical use of scraps!
I made him to use at a girls stamp camp I had last Friday. All the girls were between 7-14 years old and we had a great time making Halloween goodies. This bat was my favorite! His body is made from the scallop circle die for the Big Shot. His wings are made from the piece that’s left over after the scallop circle is cut! Pretty clever, eh?! His head is the 1¾” circle punch, eyes are wiggle eyes, mouth and fangs are white gel pen and his ears are the 5 petal flower punch. His legs and feet are the word window punch and a flower punch. About 5-6 candy corn will fit in the cup that sticks onto his belly. Since most of the pieces are just punches, he’s pretty easy for the kids to put together. Some of them skipped the legs and put the feet right up on the body which looks cute too. Hope he makes you laugh! Thanks for stopping by –

Scary Skeleton Card – but he’s not very scary…Posted on October 6th, 2009 @ 6:09 pm
Hi – Haven’t had much time to stamp lately but I did manage to sneak down
last night and make this Halloween card. It’s a 4”x4” size which is perfect to tuck in with some chocolate treats to a friend! The skeleton is stamped in Versamark and embossed with white embossing powder and cut out. He comes from the Scary Skeleton stamp set. The DSP is Cast-a-Spell and cut out on the Big Shot with the Top Note die – it’s backed in black cardstock. The Top Note die has a skinny perforated edge and I just snipped that off of the DSP piece so the black would create a border. The circle is from the Batty for You stamp set. I just punched out the skeleton head part of the stamped image with a ¾” circle punch and looped it over the knots in the ribbons – kind of looks like a big rivet or grommet! The 3 buttons in the corner are just from my jar of buttons and seemed to add the little bit of balance I was looking for. Hope you like it! Thanks for stopping by –

Black Cat Favor BoxPosted on September 26th, 2009 @ 1:14 am
Hi – This little black cat didn’t turn out to be very fierce looking for Halloween, did he?!
He’s kinda cute though… He is made from the scallop circles #2 die. I die cut the larger scallop circle and then turned it just a bit and ran it through again to get the pointier look to the scallops. The ears are the 5 point star die, also cut in Basic Black cardstock. If you click on the photo to enlarge it, you can see the ears are folded in to give them a little dimension. His face is all punches – ¾” circle and ½” circle for the eyes, small oval punch for the nose and inside of the ears and his mouth is also the small scallop oval using the negative piece after the oval is cut (leave a comment if that doesn’t make sense and you want a better explanation!). I used Going Gray and Basic Gray for those parts. The favor box die is cut from the Cast-a-Spell DSP and the tag is from the Batty for You stamp set. Peeking out from the box is a cello bag of candy corn tied up with black gingham ribbon and Pumpkin Pie striped grosgrain ribbon. The tag is hanging from the box handle with twine.
Hope you like it – Thanks for stopping by –

Wood Sheet Card and MatchboxPosted on September 17th, 2009 @ 11:03 pm
Hi – Tonight’s card and matchbox feature the wood sheets in the new Idea Book & Catalog.
They are a bit like balsa wood backed with a white paper, but thin enough to cut with a paper trimmer and easy enough to run through the Big Shot. The card has the Dasher stamp in Chocolate Chip stamped right onto the wood sheet. I added a few tiny white beads on the antler swirls. The tag was cut from the matchbox die on the Big Shot. The box on the right is the matchbox die stamped with the snowflake from Winter Post. I added the brown felt ribbon around the outside edge along with a tag from the same wood sheet and a wire swirl hanger to make it like an ornament. Think of the small treats you could hide inside and then put it on your Christmas tree – what fun! Visit my Stampin’ Up! website to order a pack of the wood sheets for yourself! They are $9.95 for four 5¾x13¾” sheets. Hope you like them. Thanks for stopping by –

Scraps = layers!Posted on August 19th, 2009 @ 9:13 am
Hi – Last night I was cleaning up my scrap container and came across several little pieces of Parisian Breeze DSP that I had cut into strips or run through the Big Shot. I get a little lazy with scraps and tend to toss them in a tub and then sort them out by color when the tub starts to overflow! :0) But I got distracted – as I often do – by these pieces and started putting them together on a card! Here’s what I came up with:

The colors are Baja Breeze, Kraft, Chocolate Chip and White. The center heart is a chipboard piece that I embossed with white powder three times to give it a chunkier look. The little “Thank You” stamp is from the Short & Sweet stamp set. Hope you like it! Thanks for stopping by -

Finally a new card! :)Posted on July 24th, 2009 @ 11:32 am
Hi – I finally found a few minutes to sneak into my stamping room and make a new card! Oh happy day… : ) This card is a So Saffron base with the new Tall Tales DSP. I used the Top Note die to make the center spot in Close to Cocoa and white. The sentiment is from the Great Friend stamp set. I inked it up in Rose Red and then went over the word “friend” with a Chocolate Chip marker to get the two colored effect on one stamp! The flowers were die cut with my Big Shot, button centers tied with linen thread, edges stitched with a white gel pen. I tied a So Saffron ribbon across the top and called it good! Hope you like it! Can Rich Razzleberry be simple?Posted on June 17th, 2009 @ 11:42 am
Hi – Question of the day…if the cardstock’s name is “Rich Razzleberry,” can you make a simple card with it or will it be rich and razzle-dazzle-ish?! :] Well this card is pretty simple in design. It’s a lot like the Soft Suede card from two posts ago. I changed the colors and the sentiment and shifted things around a bit. Thanks for stopping by -

Simple Soft Suede Thank You cardPosted on June 15th, 2009 @ 12:47 am
Hi – Hope your weekend was wonderful! Mine was. :] Took a little time out to stamp this thank you card tonight. It’s pretty clean and simple – nothing fancy. I used the Soft Suede cardstock for my base with Whisper White and a little strip of the Razzleberry Lemonade DSP.

I used the little dots texture plate and the Big Shot to put the raised dots on the bottom 1/3 of the card. The ribbon is Polka-dot Soft Suede grosgrain tied so that the knot tails are backwards and don’t show the polka-dots. I used the eyelet border punch on the DSP mostly to tie all the dots together. The “Thank You” is from the Thank You Kindly stamp set. I like the simple look of this card even though there are a lot of different little things on it. Hope you like it too! New In Colors are here!Posted on June 10th, 2009 @ 11:28 pm
Hi – My sneak peek package arrived from Stampin’ Up! Woohoo! I got together with my stampin’ buddy Julie today and we make these three cards. Her’s are a little different than mine so be sure to hop over to www.thoughtsthatstick.blogspot.com to check out her twist! We usually have very similar taste but today she was a “melon mambo/rich razzleberry” girl and I was stuck on the bermuda bay and soft suede!
This is the Bermuda Bay/Soft Suede card that was stamped in Versamark and then clear embossed with the Eastern Blooms stamp set. The Sanded background stamp was used on the base and the blue piece. Love the matching ribbon tied off with a piece of hemp twine!
This card has a Rich Razzleberry card base and uses the *new* Circle Circus stamp set. Added a few rhinestone and filigree brads here and there for some razzle-dazzle! :] heehee Ink colors are Rich Razzleberry, Old Olive and Crushed Curry.
This last card is a pocket card made with the Razzleberry Lemonade DSP and a Melon Mambo base. The criss-cross is made with the small pennant from the pennant die for the Big Shot. The inner piece that’s Curry and white pulls out and can be written on.
So many beautiful things in the new catalog! Can’t wait to share more – thanks for stopping by -
