Hi – I have exciting news!  I have just posted my first tutorial for sale on my Products Page!  Yah! :0)  It is an 11 page tutorial for the Pennant Die Basket, including step by step directions, photographs of each step and all the measurements.  There are also pictures of three different samples of the basket.  I think you’ll find the directions easy to follow and you’ll love the end results!  Click here or on the sidebar to the right on “Products Page.”  I hope to be adding another great card box I’ve designed very soon.  Thanks so much for stopping by!

Whole basket of goofy goodies!
Posted on May 15th, 2009 @ 9:30 am

Hi – Just a quick post to share the picture of the teacher goodies before they head out the door to school.  I’m not sure if my dog is guarding the basket or hoping I’ll turn my back and he can score a treat!

And here’s the little bag of 3×3 cards I made for my son’s teacher.  I forgot to take a picture of the cards before I tied them all up in the bag…bummer.

Parisian Breeze Basket
Posted on May 12th, 2009 @ 12:46 am

Hi – Two posts in one day…I’m either on a roll or skipping housework today! :]  Here is the third pennant die basket I made.  This is the one I will show in the tutorial I’m working on.  It’s made with Parisian Breeze DSP and a Kraft base.  The tag scallop is also on the pennant die.  I just added a Chocolate Chip 1-3/8″ circle and a 1-1/4″ Whisper White circle for the “to you from me” stamp.  The embellishments on the sides are Chocolate Chip and Baja Breeze felt fusion flowers with jumbo eyelets holding them together.  Then I attached them to the pennant with a rhinestone brad through all the layers in the middle of the eyelet.  In this basket, I’ve put a mini loaf of almond poppyseed bread tied with a Chocolate Chip grosgrain ribbon.  It fits in there perfectly!  The other two baskets in previous posts (here and here) hold cards and 3×3 cards with a treat bag and decorated post-it note holder.  Thanks for stopping by -

Bella Rose Pennant Basket
Posted on May 8th, 2009 @ 12:33 am

Hi – This is another basket I designed using the pennant die for the Big Shot as the sides.  This time I used the Bella Rose DSP, one of my favorites from the current catalog.

The first basket I made like this holds full size cards.  For this one, I put dividers inside so there are two littler and one big compartment.  I put 4 mini cards (3×3) in one small section, a bag of chocolate covered raisins in the center big section and then a post-it note holder in the second small section.  The 3×3’s are Kiwi Kiss and Pirouette Pink with Bella Rose accents, buttons, ribbon, rhinestone brads and flowers.  I love making these little cards because I get to use all those little pieces that I hate to throw away! :]  The stamp sets I used were Thank You Kindly and One of a Kind.  The tag on the chocolate raisins is from Sale-a-bration.  The post-it note holder is made with the top note die for the Big Shot.  I cut one from a chipboard coaster and then one from the Bella Rose DSP and glued them together.  Then I cut the bottom inch (or so :] ) off and sanded the edges.  I punched the holes for the ribbon with the crop-o-dile.   You can click on the photos to make them bigger if you’d like.  I think this would make a lovely teacher gift or gift for a friend.  Think of all the different things you could put in it!  Hope you like it!  Thanks for stopping by -

Pennant Die Basket
Posted on May 6th, 2009 @ 1:56 am

Hi – After much fussing around, I have finally finished all the pieces to my big project I hinted about a few days ago – and I’m very excited about it!  I wanted to create something ‘different’ with my pennant die and came up with a way to turn it into a basket.   I love it!  There are so many possibilities now that I have a template all figured out and the measuring done.  The one shown below is made with Summer Picnic DSP – retired paper, I know – but have no fear, I’ve made one out of Bella Rose DSP and Parisian Breeze!  I’ll post those too in the next day or so.   This one holds 8 standard sized cards.  You could put more, there’s plenty of room!  All the cards use the same Summer Picnic DSP, but they are all different.  They are in pairs of two.  Each pair has the same basic layout but the details change.  Colors are Old Olive, Bashful Blue, Real Red, Pumpkin Pie and Whisper White.  Let me know what you think of the basket.  I know I’ll be using my pennant die a lot more now. :] Hope you like it!
