Hi – Here is another version of the box, this time in a Valentine’s design.  I reconfigured the box portion to better fit on the scallop square pieces.  I like it better with a little more of the scallop visible and it is still plenty big.  I cut the square from Chocolate Chip and layered Very Vanilla and a piece of the Sending Love Specialty paper on top.  The heart and “u” are chipboard.  The “u” was just colored with a marker in Chocolate Chip and Close to Cocoa.  For the heart, I glued a piece of the DSP on top, cut it out and sanded the edges.  The pretty little brad is an epoxy brad from the current mini.  The box measures 3½” x 3½”  and is 2” tall.  I fit 30 Tootsie Rolls inside – in case you’re as visual as I am!

Hi  – This cute little box was a cooperative effort and I love the way it turned out!  While I figured out the box dimensions and how to score and fold it, my stampin’ buddy Julie did the design for the lid….in this case, two heads were better than one!  As Julie knows all too well (because I make her crazy with a ruler :0) ), I like to use whole numbers or at least reasonable fractions.  AND – I like to maximize the paper and not waste space.  I’m a little nutty that way.  Soooo, the top and bottom pieces are the square scallop die run through the Big Shot and the box is made from an 8×8¼ sheet of cardstock.  The box itself is an 8×8 sheet and the hinge is that little piece of ¼” on one end.  The sides are 2” tall so it’s a pretty deep box – big enough to hold two of the medium sized SU! punches.  We used the new paper pack from the Occasions mini and added the felt leaves and a punched circle of the polka dot DSP on one flower.  The closure is a tab punch that hooks behind a button.  The clear button is backed in a piece of the polka dotted DSP too.

Hi – Quick post today to show these cute Sweet-Tart  Treats!  They are very easy to make if you have these skinny cello bags.  I’ve seen them “out there” before filled with M&Ms but I thought these little candy hearts would be a great fit for Valentine’s Day.  The heart shaped toppers were stamped with the  “I {Heart} Hearts stamp set that coordinates with the heart punches.  Punches make everything easy-peasy!   :0)   I sandwiched the top of the cello bag between two hearts and on the back I stamped “To:  From:” so they could be given away.  Hope you like them!  Holler if you have any questions.  Thanks for stopping by!

Hi – This card is 4×4 and could be a gift card holder as well as a pop-up card.  It started as a gift card holder from a store and my stampin’ partner Julie and I took it apart and put our own twist on it.  The red strip with the flower on it is a belly band and it slides off.  Julie has more samples of the scallop circle flowers on her site here as well as how to make them.  Inside the card is a ledge with a slit that will hold a regular credit card sized gift card. It sits in the ledge and can be pulled out.  We chose to put in a “Like-o-meter” stamped on a 3×3 piece of Pretty in Pink instead!  The meter stamp is in the new Occasions mini for $8.95.  The paper also comes from the mini catalog and is called “Sending Love.”  Each sheet in the pack has a shimmery glittery side.  I’m not much of a glitter-girl, but this paper is beautiful!  Hope you like it! Hi there!  It’s been eons since I’ve posted anything – not that I wasn’t stamping and having tons of stamp camps though.  Just couldn’t get the finished projects photographed and posted before I was off to the next “thing”… But it’s time to get back in a groove and show some new and fun projects and cards!

Today’s card actually took me 2 nights to finish  because of all the layers and pieces!  I started out wanting to try to make a faux suede flower -which then became a layered flower -which then became this card. : )  I had 4 square white panels of the same size which then became 6 of different sizes.  Obviously I can’t make up my mind!!  In the end, I love the way it turned out with each panel being unique but they all seem to go together.  I used the Short and Sweet stamp set for the “love you” and the 3 mini hearts and the Razzle Dazzle stamp set for the background pattern of the lower right panel.  The inks are Pretty in Pink and Real Red.

To make the faux suede flower, I started with a scallop circle punched from Pretty in Pink.  Then I used a bone folder to ‘curl’ the edges and break up the fibers in the cardstock.  After curling all around the circle on both sides, the cardstock easily splits into two layers that can be peeled apart.  The suede look comes from using the inside of one of the layers!  It’s soft and fuzzy just like suede!  I did the same thing to the two smaller flowers, layered them and added that jumbo brad to the center.

I think this is my favorite panel!  I love the little heart stamped to blend in with the layer below but popped up on a dimensional for a little pizzazz!  Isn’t it cute?!  : )
