Hi – This little black cat didn’t turn out to be very fierce looking for Halloween, did he?!

He’s kinda cute though… He is made from the scallop circles #2 die.  I die cut the larger scallop circle and then turned it just a bit and ran it through again to get the pointier look to the scallops.  The ears are the 5 point star die, also cut in Basic Black cardstock.  If you click on the photo to enlarge it, you can see the ears are folded in to give them a little dimension.  His face is all punches – ¾” circle and ½” circle for the eyes, small oval punch for the nose and inside of the ears and his mouth is also the small scallop oval using the negative piece after the oval is cut (leave a comment if that doesn’t make sense and you want a better explanation!).  I used Going Gray and Basic Gray for those parts.  The favor box die is cut from the Cast-a-Spell DSP and the tag is from the Batty for You stamp set. Peeking out from the box is a cello bag of candy corn tied up with black gingham ribbon and Pumpkin Pie striped grosgrain ribbon.  The tag is hanging from the box handle with twine.

Hi – Tomorrow is the first day of fall and since it is supposed to be in the 80’s, I thought flowers seemed to fit the occasion better than fall leaves would!  I guess these look a bit like sunflowers or maybe big marigolds.  They are made with the scallop circle punch.  I just snipped between each scallop and curved it a bit with a bone folder.  The edges are sponged with Chocolate Chip ink, as is the DSP layer.  I added a little So Saffron scalloped edge on top of the Chocolate Chip layer – which is actually a leftover piece of the Top Note die scrap.  Did that make sense?!  It’s a side from the frame that is leftover when you die cut a Top Note. The ribbon is in the way a bit –sorry ‘bout that!  The DSP is from the Tall Tales pack and the stamp is from the Thank You Kindly stamp set.  There’s a bit of hemp twine tied in the center of the buttons too. Hi – Tonight’s card and matchbox feature the wood sheets in the new Idea Book & Catalog.  They are a bit like balsa wood backed with a white paper, but thin enough to cut with a paper trimmer and easy enough to run through the Big Shot.  The card has the Dasher stamp in Chocolate Chip stamped right onto the wood sheet.  I added a few tiny white beads on the antler swirls.  The tag was cut from the matchbox die on the Big Shot.  The box on the right is the matchbox die stamped with the snowflake from Winter Post.  I added the brown felt ribbon around the outside edge along with a tag from the same wood sheet and a wire swirl hanger to make it like an ornament.  Think of the small treats you could hide inside and then put it on your Christmas tree – what fun!  Visit my Stampin’ Up! website to order a pack of the wood sheets for yourself!  They are $9.95 for four 5¾x13¾” sheets.  Hope you like them.  Thanks for stopping by –

Hi – Two posts in one day….yikes! I love this little skeleton guy and wanted to find a way to make him wiggle!  I know there is a way to do it with pennies like on a slider card but it seemed beyond my tired brain to figure it out so I did what I do best – make stuff up!!  First the card details:  The skeleton is embossed with white powder on black cardstock and I cut him out.  The DSP is the new Cast-a-Spell pack. To make the 3-d scallop circle behind him, I cut a piece 1½”x12” and used the scallop punch along the long edge.  Then I folded it back and forth in an accordion fold and stuck the end together with sticky strip so it made a circle.  Using large glue dots, I stretched it into a bigger circle that would stick out the sides of the orange circle. There’s a little black piece that’s also scalloped behind the Pumpkin Pie ribbon.  The two buttons are actually Certainly Celery and Apricot Appeal but they are close enough when the black gingham ribbon is added!  The stamp set is Scary Skeleton from pg 24 of the Idea Book & Catalog.  To make the skeleton swing back and forth, I put a paperclip on the back with a glue dot.  Then I put a big brad through the loop of the paperclip and stuck it through the orange circle.  Now he swings back and forth like he’s dancing. Hi – Here’s a cute desktop organizer I made a bit ago with my dear friend Julie.  It’s made from 6 small pint sized paint cans.  You can get them at your local hardware store and since they are new, they are a breeze to cover and decorate!  I covered mine with Delicate Dots DSP on the outside and then slipped a different design inside the cans too.  Those on the inside are not adhered so they will be easy to change out anytime!  The cans are stuck together with the large glue dots and then the ribbons tied around help to stabilize the whole thing.  For size perspective you can see that I put my Stampin’ Write markers in one, paper snips in one, blender pens in one and even Snail in the top one.  It was truly easy to make and helps to organize those things you need all the time that are usually tucked away in a drawer – or in my case, spread out all over the room!!  It sits happily on top of my cubby shelf and looks pretty cute.  Hope you like it!  Holler if you have any questions.  Thanks for stopping by –

Hi – Tonight’s card is a shabby chic Thank You card done in Kiwi Kiss, Chocolate Chip and Kraft with touches of white.  The edges were all distressed with Chocolate Chip ink to give it a shabby look.   I cut the Chocolate Chip layer into the Top Note shape with the Big Shot die and then ran it through again with the mini polka dot embossing plate for some added texture.  The green DSP is non-SU, but I liked the design on it for the layout I had in mind.  The corduroy button holds the two ribbon loops in place behind the curly label punch.  I hope you like it!  Thanks for stopping by –

Hi – Happy Friday!  Kids started school here on Wednesday and get to ease into things with a 3 day week followed by a long weekend – no sense rushing into things!  Here are two mini backpacks I made for the lovely secretaries at my son’s elementary school.  I filled them with candies and a large paperclip bookmark that matched the scallop circle on the front of each one.  The first one is Real Red and Basic Black.  I used a retired wheel that goes with Crayon Kids for the main background and then some striped DSP in black and grey from a Halloween pack.  The front flap is held closed with a velcro dot.  The top strap and the back straps (which you can’t see…) are black grosgrain ribbon.  The apple is from the Tart and Tangy stamp set.  The whole thing is about 5 inches tall!  I closed that small pouch in the front but you could leave it open and fit something cute and tiny in there.   The second one is  Old Olive  with the Summer Picnic DSP.  Also retired – can you tell I’m trying to use up some old things!!  More room for new things :0) that way!  For this one I used white twill for the handle and straps.  Same apple stamp.  One has a definite “school” look to it and the other is a bit “fresh” looking.  I love them both!  Hope you like them too!  Thanks for stopping by -  kirstin
