The last one- Merci, merci!
Posted on April 29th, 2009 @ 11:48 pm

Hi – Here is the last merci card – I promise! :]  I have 15 different “merci” cards made and ready to mail off across the big pond to Switzerland.  I hope she likes them all!  I couldn’t really send off these French cards without at least one card featuring the Eiffel Tower.  Here it is – in Kraft and Bashful Blue.  Subtle colors for a not so subtle structure!  The rhinestone brad and little rhinestones give it some zip.  :]  Hope you like it.  I’ll be back soon (not tonight though!) with a new box/purse/basket I designed that I’m very excited about.  It has many possibilities… stay tuned!  Thanks for stopping by -

Tart & Tangy flower card
Posted on April 28th, 2009 @ 12:29 am

Hi – Here’s a bright and cheery card I made for the “merci” collection.  I like the big flower in the center. :] The big flowers are from the “Blooms” die cuts pack.  I layered a few on there and then rounded out the bottom with smaller flowers punched with the Boho Blossoms punch.  The colors are Old Olive, Real Red and Bashful Blue.  Pretty simple card to put together but those flowers add a bit of pop!  Hope you like it!  I’m also posting a second card I made with another designer paper from the Tart & Tangy set.  It has the “Blooms” die cut flowers as well with a few buttons at the bottom.  Thanks for stopping by!

Delicate Dots Merci Cards
Posted on April 26th, 2009 @ 5:37 pm

Hi there – I haven’t posted in a day or two so I’ll make up for it by posting 4 cards today! :]  My goal with these 4 cards was to pick a layout, coordinating colors with the Delicate Dots DSP and then see if I could make each card look different without changing where the major pieces would go.  All the ribbons are different and tied differently but they are all towards the bottom of the center panel.  All the sentiments are the same scallop and oval punches, but the colors and the details change.  I’ll let you look for any other differences!  Hope you like them – Thanks for stopping by -

Simple merci card
Posted on April 23rd, 2009 @ 11:30 pm

Hi – Just a quick post tonight to share the latest card in the “merci” stack.  I made two tonight but the other one, wasn’t quite right… It started out well, but tanked at the end.  Know what I mean?!  ugh…such potential… :]  Anyhow, this card isn’t so bad!  It’s Baja Breeze cardstock with Kraft, Chocolate Chip and Whisper White.  I used the Friends 24-7 set to stamp on the Kraft with Versamark so it would be subtle.  The Curly Label punch is layered under the sentiment.  The ribbon is not from Stampin’ Up! but it matched too well not to use it!  I tied it with help twine and then threaded a flower button from the Button Latte collection in the center.  Let me know if you have any questions.  Thanks for stopping by -

Merci, it’s a flower pot!
Posted on April 22nd, 2009 @ 11:45 pm

Hi – Tonight I finished another “merci” card in the Bella Rose DSP colors but without the Bella Rose… Opted for plain cardstock instead.  I made the little flower pot out of a scrap of Chocolate Chip; just folded over about 3/8″ at the top and then angled a cut from the fold line to the bottom.  The flower is from the Birds & Blooms sizzlits die.  newly-imported-1831The outside layer of Kiwi Kiss was pierced and then faux stitched with a white gel pen.  And this time I added the “merci” from the Springtime in Paris stamp set to the bottom on punched ovals and tucked it under the top layers.  Hope you like it!  Thanks for visiting -

“Merci” Cards
Posted on April 22nd, 2009 @ 12:54 am

Hi – I love the way these cards turned out!  They are very different but both are cheerful, I think.  The pink card uses the Gallery stamp set for the frame in the middle.  I cut it out and layered a pink 1-1/4 circle on it with the “merci” stamped in the center.  The flowers are felt with a rhinestone brad in the center.  I used the Friends 24-7 set to stamp the Chocolate Chip layer at the bottom.  The red card is Riding Hood Red and Kiwi Kiss. The designer series paper is Bella Rose – a favorite!  The flowers are punched out with the Boho Blossoms punch and the retired Spring flower Bouquet punch.  I hope you like the cards too!  Thanks for stopping by -

“Hey there!” again…
Posted on April 20th, 2009 @ 11:46 pm

Hi – Another Pacific Point card!  I’m on a roll… I wanted this card to have the center punched out so the “hey there” could be on the inside of the card but be seen from the front.  newly-imported-173 I like the way it turned out except that the petals hang over the outside edge…yikes…. So I either have to cut them off or use a bigger envelope! :]  Being the practiced procrastinator that I am, I opted to worry about that later!  All the papers, ink and stamp sets are the same as the first card.  I changed the ribbon to the Chocolate Chip taffeta and added a swirly clip to the knot.  The center of the flower is embossed with clear powder to give it some gloss.  You can click on the photos to see them larger!  Hope you like it.

Hey There!
Posted on April 20th, 2009 @ 12:53 pm

Hi – A mid day post!  So unlike me to have something to post and it’s not midnight! :]  The truth would be that I made this card last night and I’m just posting it now…  Anyhow, you know how you just love some colors and others just don’t work for you?!  Pacific Point is one of those colors for me.  Not a favorite.  My friend Julie (also my upline :] ) and I were talking about that stack of Pacific Point cardstock that we both have staring at us.  What to do with it…  So we decided to see what we could come up with.  She posted her card designs last week at her wonderful blogsite (www.ThoughtsThatStick.blogspot.com) and since I was gone all weekend, I’m just getting to figuring out mine.  I decided to try a big flower on a Pacific Point background with the Good Morning Sunshine DSP as the ground.  I used my circle scissor plus to cut the curved stem from Kiwi Kiss and the Pick a Petal set for all the petals.  I cut a slot with the slot punch into the DSP layer and tucked the stem in there.  The leaves are just punched with the small scallop punch.  Add some Chocolate Chip ribbon, hemp twine to tie it and a flower button from the Button Latte collection and I was done!  Oh – and the “hey there” is from the Really Retro set.  Now I’m done. :]  Hope you like it!

I’m back… :]
Posted on April 19th, 2009 @ 9:09 pm

Hi – I’m back!  We went to Spokane for the weekend to visit the in-laws.  I took photos to post, but they were of the gifts we took for birthdays so I couldn’t post too early (in case they looked!) and then the time got away from me.  Now we’re back home, unpacked and ready to get back in the groove again.

The first project was the one I mentioned last week that I was working on for my sister-in-law’s birthday.  She likes to do crafty things as well so I made her a card/tag kit and put it all in a tote.  I got the template from my upline and thought it would be perfect to hold all the pieces I wanted to put in there.  I also gave her the “Yummy” set to go with it.   The tote base is Chocolate Chip with Parisian Breeze DSP on the front.  I stamped the sentiment on a Whisper White top note cut with the Big Shot.  I also die cut butterflies from the same DSP for the corners.  I added my own twist on the butterfly body with a piece of grosgrain tied in a knot, rounded at one end and then I cut the other end down the middle to split it into antennae – kinda cute, eh?!  Inside is a clear card box cut in half and adhered to each side of the tote.  You can put all kinds of things in there!  It could probably hold 8 cards and envelopes – maybe more if they weren’t too thick.  I put in a stack of top notes, a stack of medium sized scallop circles, a stack of prepped cards and envelopes for her to finish her own way and a bag of die cut butterflies in two sizes.  Along with the stamp set, I’m sure she’ll find all kinds of things to make!  Here it is all finished and then again opened up.  You can click on the photos to see them larger.  Hope you like it!

newly-imported-1581newly-imported-163The second project is really just packaging.  I needed something to put my father-law’s gift in and didn’t have much that wasn’t flowery so I had to make something up!  This started as a purse made from one sheet of 8-1/2 x 11 cardstock, but I needed to fit two cd’s in there so I had to go up to 12 x 12 cardstock.  (Email me if you want exact dimensions…)  Then I decided to make it look like a shirt front.  Probably could have picked a bolder plaid or stripe, but….I didn’t! :]  the pockets are the tag punch turned upside down.  The collar is just a rectangle cut on the diagonal and then rounded the corners.  Add the center button flap, faux stitching, the buttons, the tag and waaaaa-la!   A shirt to hold cds! :]  Thanks for looking!

Simple Embossed Card
Posted on April 15th, 2009 @ 11:50 pm

Hi – I’ve been working on a gift set for my sister-in-law that’s not quite done so I thought I’d post a card I made for my last Stamp Camp instead of skipping out!  It’s a pretty simple card to make as long as you have a Big Shot die cut machine.  The base of the card is white, the second layer is Certainly Celery (although it looks brighter than that in the picture…) and the top layer is Pretty in Pink.  I embossed it in a contraband Cuttlebug embossing folder (gasp!) and rounded the corners of all three layers.  The little flower and leaf were die cut from the Birds & Blooms Sizzlits set.  The tiny half pearl makes an elegant little flower center, don’t you think?!  The rest is fairly easy to put together.  Thanks for stopping by!
