Monochromatic Mood
Posted on July 15th, 2010 @ 1:03 am

Hi there – Today’s card makes great use of all those random strips of paper we all have stashed away!  These are all grey with two Baja Breeze strips since they seemed to fit with their geometric patterns.  The little flower is my favorite part.  It’s three little ones scrunched up and stacked with a brad in the center to hold them together.  Adds a touch of dimension along with the grey taffeta ribbon.  Hope you like it!

Picture or Video 695 Last Friday’s garage sale was a success but I still have lots of stamp sets and paper/ink/reinker sets left.  Give a shout if you are interested and I can send you titles and colors I have available.  The sets are between $4-12 – such a bargain!

Flower Garden Card

Picture or Video 595

Hellooooo – I was in the mood for a crisp and fresh looking card and here’s my result…I rather like that there’s lots of white which makes the brighter colors pop a bit more.  I used Tempting Turquoise, Real Red, Pumpkin Pie and Old Olive.  It’s a very simple card to make, but there are a lot of little pieces to adhere on there! :0)

Hope you like it too!  Thanks for stopping by –

Back from the edge of the earth!
Posted on April 14th, 2010 @ 11:47 pm

That’s the answer to, “Where have you been?!”  I’m back from falling off the edge of the earth.  :0)   I could explain it all but I’m sure you’d rather just see a card and get on with it!!   My oh-so-wise stampin’ buddy Julie has this thing she does with new stampPicture or Video 193 sets she gets – she puts the set together and then makes 5 things – cards or projects – with the set right away.  Sort of a getting acquainted tradition, I like to think.  So that’s what leads me to today’s card… It’s one of 5 I made using the “Welcome Neighbor” DSP pad and the “Good Neighbors” stamp set from Sale-a-bration.  The papers coordinate wonderfully with the stamps!  The colors are kraft, Taken with Teal and Old Olive.  The focal piece and the striped piece are both from the paper pack.  I added the buttons to the tree and a little white taffeta ribbon.  A very easy card since only the sentiment and mini tree are stamped!  Hope you like it.

Little Lion with Big Wishes….
Posted on February 17th, 2010 @ 4:03 pm

Hi – Quick post today of a card I made last night while distracted watching thePicture or Video 059 Olympics… The lion might be too small with everything else going on around him but the flowers I tried seemed too big.  I do like the lion though!  He’s from the Fox & Friends stamp set and I stamped him 3 times to get the popped out layers on his head.  The colors are Real Red, Pumpkin Pie and So Saffron.  All the ribbons are Stampin’ Up!  Hope you like it!  Thanks for stopping by –

Same template – different twist!
Posted on July 29th, 2009 @ 11:19 am

Hi – Hope it’s cooler where you are than it is here!  We are supposed to hit 102 degrees today which is too hot for Seattle… : )  But stamping must go on regardless of the weather!  Today’s card is the same layout as yesterday’s but I changed up the colors, stamp set and accessories.  I don’t use pink very often but I do like the Regal Rose and Sahara Sand combination.

I used the Crazy for Cupcakes stamp set, stamped in Close to Cocoa and then colored in the plate and cupcakes with a blender pen and ink pads.  I had to mask off the cake stand when I inked up the stamp so it would fit where I wanted it.  I added a bit of Dazzling Diamonds to each frosting top for a little sparkle – also a stretch for me!  You can click on the picture to make it larger to see the details.  Pink and glitter on one card – that’s a bold move! : )   Hope you have a great day!  Thanks for stopping by -

Cupcake anyone?!
Posted on June 18th, 2009 @ 12:50 am

Hi – Still no pink card but at least this one’s not orange!  It’s Night of Navy, River Rock and Baja Breeze.  The designer paper is from the Walk in the Park pack.  The cupcake and the sentiment come from the Party Hearty set.

I was aiming for a “guy card” with the colors and lack of frilly stuff.  The ribbon is not SU! but it matched the River Rock piece so well that I had to use it.  To get the ribbon to stay in place and wrap around the card, I use the little slot punch on the folded edge of the base and just take a wee bite out of the fold – just enough to feed the ribbon through.  That’s the tip of the day in case you were wondering how to do that! I put a piece of white cardstock on the inside to make it easier to see your writing and added the little gift stamp in the corner.

Orange you glad?
Posted on June 15th, 2009 @ 11:42 pm

Hi – I love this orange and yellow combination.  Love it.  Tried to make a pink card tonight.  Didn’t work.  Back to orange and yellow!  I think I like that the DSP is kind of smudgy and rustic-ish.  Then I like putting something like a clean, crisp Pretties flower on top to balance it out.  A very simple card, but I like it bestest.  The base is Crushed Curry, then Pumpkin Pie and Whisper White.  Tired of seeing orange and yellow yet?  Maybe tomorrow I’ll get my pink groove back and finish that other card…no promises though! :]  Hope you like orange too!  Thanks for stopping by -

Ovally Upsy Daisy card!
Posted on June 7th, 2009 @ 6:32 pm

Hi – Just a quick post before I get dinner on the table.  This was a fun card to make and was inspired by the photo in the catalog (pg 87) of the Upsy Daisy stamps on a box.  I liked that the main image was stamped in red – not really one I would have thought of – and it was paired with kraft and Kiwi Kiss.  I substituted a scrap piece of Soft Sky I had leftover in my ‘blue’ drawer to die cut the oval frame.  I stamped the daisies in Riding Hood Red on Whisper White and then again in Versamark so I could add clear embossing powder and give it some shine!  Hard to tell in the photo, but it’s shiny! :]  I used my Rough Around the Edges jumbo wheel on the Kraft base.  I stamped the flowers in Soft Sky lightly on the white before stamping the sentiment in Stazon black.  Layered on an oval and some taffeta ribbon and called it good!  Hope you like it. Use ‘em or Lose ‘em!
Posted on June 6th, 2009 @ 3:47 pm

Hi – Today’s cards are made with a few of those random things I seem to accumulate and set aside to use later.  Probably because they aren’t Stampin’ Up! and I try to stay pretty close to using just SU! I decided to  either use ‘em or lose ‘em – which in this case would mean chuckin’ them out or giving them away…but who would want one orange flower brad or a piece of ribbon or that one red flower I stamped ages ago and saved?!  So I made cards. :]  Hope you like them!  Thanks for stopping by -

Square Gift Card Holders
Posted on June 5th, 2009 @ 11:23 pm

Hi – Ever start out doing one thing and end up on a totally different road?!  I started out trying to find the table top in my stampin room and ended up making these gift card holders instead! :] I tried to clean up, honestly!  Actually in the process of cleaning and putting things away, I found a new package of 4½” square envelopes.  Hmm.  Must be a reason I have them…don’t know what it is so I guess I’d better come up with something.  Here’s what I made:

I cut my cardstock to 4 ¼” x 9″ and scored it at 3″ and 7 ¼”.  The smaller section becomes the inside pocket.  I used brads to hold the sides of the pocket although sticky strip or eyelets would work as well.  Both use the Rockabilly DSP, Real Red and Basic Black.  The cherry one has Certainly Celery accents and the polka dotted one has So Saffron on it.  The big daisy is a die cut with the Big Shot.  The sentiments are both from the Garden Greetings stamp set.  Since the envelopes started the whole diversion, I had to dress them up a bit too!  Hope you like them!  Thanks for stopping by -
