My second swap cardPosted on July 22nd, 2010 @ 10:42 pm
This is another card I made lots of to swap at
convention. It’s the same Animal Stories stamp set but the colors are brighter and I put them in a filmstrip. The spiral edge punch makes it easy. The little hearts and the “love you” are from the Short & Sweet stamp set –one of my favorites! The Designer Paper in the background is from the Island Oasis pack. I used the stripes and the polka dots since I had to cut so many pieces. The hearts are popped up on dimensionals. Hope you like it!

Getting ready for convention!Posted on July 20th, 2010 @ 10:31 pm
The annual Stampin’ Up! convention starts tomorrow so I’m off to
Salt Lake City in the morning with 10,000 of my closest friends! There will be tons to see, classes to take, demonstrations to watch and lots and lots of cards to swap! I didn’t go over-board this year and I’m taking just a few different kinds… It’s been an assembly line around here trying to get them all ready though. Cut pieces, punch pieces, fold pieces, stamp pieces…and then put them all together! Voila, the finished card…
I really like these colors together – so Saffron, Marina Mist, Pumpkin Pie and Chocolate Chip. The animals are from the Animal Stories stamp set and the words are from the Three Little Words stamp set. I cut the H and the I out with my Big Shot and the Serif Essentials alphabet. I hope the stampers I swap with like it too!

Monochromatic MoodPosted on July 15th, 2010 @ 1:03 am
Hi there – Today’s card makes great use of all those random strips of paper we all have stashed away! These are all grey with two Baja Breeze strips since they seemed to fit with their geometric patterns. The little flower is my favorite part. It’s three little ones scrunched up and stacked with a brad in the center to hold them together. Adds a touch of dimension along with the grey taffeta ribbon. Hope you like it!
Last Friday’s garage sale was a success but I still have lots of stamp sets and paper/ink/reinker sets left. Give a shout if you are interested and I can send you titles and colors I have available. The sets are between $4-12 – such a bargain!

A new catalog, new colors and a new stamp set…Posted on July 1st, 2010 @ 11:02 pm
Hi – The new catalog launched today and it’s a beauty! Be sure to check it out at my website: http://www.stampinup.net/esuite/home/kirstindavies/catalogs The samples are just lovely! I see something new each time I look at a page! :0)
Today’s card is made with a set that will be in the new catalog as a level 2 hostess set – which means you could earn it free with a workshop that totals $300 or more! Free is always good….The set is called Apple Blossoms. Three new ink colors were used here too: Marina Mist, Early Espresso and Crumb Cake.
Hope you like it! Give a shout if you have any questions or would like to talk stamps or place an order…I’d love to chat with you!

Come on get happy…Posted on June 24th, 2010 @ 9:35 pm
Hi – Remember the Partridge Family?! These quails remind me of the partridges in the opening credits of that show – maybe it’s just me that sees that though!
Aren’t they cute?! This is the first time I’ve inked up this set so I started with simple. The set is called Happy Together. The colors I used are Ruby Red (looks like Really Rust though…), Chocolate chip, Certainly Celery, Whisper White and the ribbon is So Saffron. The baby quails are stamped in Crumb Cake. Hope you like it!

Punch that daisy out…Posted on June 22nd, 2010 @ 1:54 pm
Hi – Today’s card is a big ol’ daisy made from the small oval punch and the large oval punch. The larger one is embossed with the dots and the smaller one has a bit of So Saffron sponged on the edges to add a little color and depth. The center is a 1” circle with micro beads added. The card base is Baja Breeze. And that little corner flower is a Bitty Button on a saffron punched flower with twine tied through it! A lot of pieces to assemble but all in all a pretty easy card to make. Hope you like it!

Because I Care…Posted on June 21st, 2010 @ 6:07 pm
Hi – …and I do care! But in this case, that’s the name of the stamp set I used!
It’s called Because I Care and it’s a sneak peek at a set that will be in the new catalog. It has the beautiful hydrangea stamp, the “Because I care” sentiment, a “Thanks” and a few others too in the set. For this card I used River Rock, Pretty in Pink, Basic Black and Whisper White. I hope you like it!

School’s almost over! :0)Posted on June 16th, 2010 @ 9:30 pm
Hi – Tomorrow is the last full day of school! Kids are cheering, moms are…cheering too! :0) Here are a few year end teacher gifts and cards. Julie and I stuck our heads together and came up with these “Fab 5” made with the First Day stamp set.
Well, that’s 3 out of 5! They are: a bottle of hand sanitizer (and what teacher doesn’t need plenty of that!), a notepad with a magnetic closure and a tri-fold “Good Student” coupon holder. Isn’t that worm a hoot?! On the card, I used the word window punch to make the book shapes that he’s perched upon. Check Julie’s out at www.thoughtsthatstick.blogspot.com. They are slightly different since we get to yakkin’ and forget what we’re doing!
Here’s the inside of the coupon holder plus the two cards to round out the 5 projects. Hope you like them! Holler if you have any questions –
Thanks,
kirstin

Funky flowers!Posted on June 13th, 2010 @ 10:35 pm
Hi there – Gee, I’m not sure this card is my favorite design….it’s a little too random for
this “let’s make sure everything is lined up and balanced” girl! :0) But I stepped outside my box and gave it a whirl. I started with the flower stamp from the Always stamp set and heat embossed it with white powder. Then I sponged Tempting Turquoise all over it –trying not to make it a solid color, but with dark and light areas. Then I stamped the sprig in Old Olive and the little flower in Turquoise again. All the stamps are from one set which is hard to do sometimes! In person, the white flower are a bit shiny which is kind of a neat texture to add. So…not my best effort, but hey – maybe someone out there will love it! :0)
