Simple design–easy to repeat

Hi – Today’s card is one I’ve made before.  I don’t often repeat a card layout but I really like the way this one can be simplified or jazzed up – and it works in so many colors!  I used a Very Vanilla base with Basic Black mats and the Newsprint DSP.  With those as the starting point, you can really add any 3rd color to the mix and it will look great! For this card, I used Pear Pizzazz.  The “Happy Birthday” comes from the Occasions Mini, stamped in black and then heat embossed in black for a shiny look.  The flower on the metal edge tag is from the Friends Never Fade stamp set – stamped first in Pear Pizzazz and then the center is stamped in black and heat embossed in black as well.  I popped it up on dimensionals to give it some height.  The other floral stamp from the set is stamped in VersaMark in the background.  I already have the papers cut to try this in Poppy Parade, So Saffron, Baja Breeze and a few others. :0)  Maybe I’ll try changing the stamp set too.  Hope you like it!

Valentine’s Wristlet Purse

IMG_0352

Hi there – This cute little wristlet purse has been around the stampin’ and craftin’ world before.  I’ve just made this one for Valentine’s Day.  It takes 3 Top Note dies to make plus a 5½x6” piece for the inside purse piece.  The Top Notes are covered in clear embossing powder, lines wiggled through the powder and then heat embossed for the shiny, faux alligator look. IMG_0354 I used a red rhinestone brad in the center of the filigree brad for the center closure.  The little purse charm says “it’s the little things” and comes from the You’re a Gem stamp set in the Occasions Mini catalog. A jumbo eyelet holds the ribbon handle inside.  The purse is big enough to hold a gift card and some chocolates!  Hope you like it!

Floating Hearts

Hi there -  Tonight’s card is ValentineyIMG_0322 without being too pink or bold.  Crumb Cake is my favorite color for a card base.  :0)  The other colors I used are Early Espresso and Pink Pirouette.  The sentiment is part of the Word Play stamp set and the pink string of hearts stamp is from Valentine Defined, an Occasions Mini set.  I used the Texture wheel on the base so it didn’t look so stark.  All those little hearts are popped up on dimensionals so they look like they are falling down the card.  Not a complicated card, but I like it!  Hope you do too!

Ribbon Central!

IMG_0325

Hi – Is there anything more satisfying than an organized spot that used to be a jumbled mess?!  The ribbon and embellishment area of my craft room seems under control – for today!  All the spools are wound, drawers filled and accessories stacked, complete with the dog toy right in front! The drawer sets have those see-through drawers but it was too busy looking for me so I cut a pretty piece of paper and slipped it just inside the fronts to cover them. I like it much better.  Some have little labels on them but for the most part I know what’s in each drawer. You can click on the picture to make it bigger as long as you’re not looking for dust bunnies… Thanks for stopping by -

Stems of Valentines

IMG_0316Another quick card that uses the Framed Tulips embossing folder and the Valentine Defined stamp set – both from the Occasions Mini Catalog.  Very simple!  Little hearts are punched out and popped up on dimensionals.  I also added a schmear of craft white to the border for interest.  Hope you like it!
